In Austria, Salzburg was pleasant, it was obvious Vienna has a rich history, and the Alps were amazing.

     

     



  



Highlights in the Czech Republic included the Philosophers' Hall in the Strahov Monastery and Old Clock Tower Library with their frescoed ceilings, Moravian Karst (forest) and a church decorated with the bones of forty-thousand people...

        



     

     

     

Germany. After travelling for three weeks, I'd become quite bored of cities* by the time I'd spent a day in Munich, but luckily it was only a base for a couple of nights until I was able to travel south to the Bavarian Alps. I'd dreamt of visiting Neuschwanstein Castle for years and years and it didn't disappoint! *Though it did inspire some writing that eventually became lyrics for a song by my band, you can download Bored of Cities from www.last.fm/music/The+Cakes! I'm impressed with my cross-promoting there...





  

Highlights in Hungary included the murals covering the interior of Matthews Church, in Budapest, as well as the pitch-black labyrinth that ran underneath it where I had just an oil-lamp for company. It was also well worth the climb to the top of the church (the largest in Hungary) in Ezstergom. Lots more photos of Hungary to come...

Below are a few photos I took in Denmark. The first two are at Tivoli, the park in the Centre of Copenhagen. The castle is the fantastic Frederiksborg (even the drainpipes are classy - the water flows out through a dragon's mouth - see below), wait till you see it's gardens and fountains, more of the exterior and photos of the inside...
