Grant Nicholas

Where does he get his inspiration?

Okay, one of the bands he was in at school was called Sweet Leaf (named after a Black Sabbath song).
The first live band he saw was Ozzy Ozbourne (of Black Sabbath fame).

Well, that's the end of the Black Sabbath links. He says the best live performance he's seen was Queen at Live Aid 1985.
The favorite gigs he's played; the Manics Millenium at Cardiff and Feeder's first appearance on the main stage at Reading (1997).
My Perfect Day is the favorite of his own songs as he thinks its a great live song.

First single he bought - it was either The Sex Pistols 'Friggin In The Riggin' or 'Come On Everybody' by Sid Vicious.
Abba's 'Arrival' was the first album he purchased (and he has described Feeder as being a cross between Abba and The Sex Pistols!).

Grant has mentioned artists such as PJ Harvey, Beck, the Eels and The Beastie Boys as who he would like to work with.
He has named Dave Grohl and James Dean Bradfield as other really friendly people he has worked with in the music biz.

Until Feeder began to take off, Grant worked as a bike courier.
The first song he wrote for Feeder was "Rush."
Grant remixed Mark B and Blade's "Ya Don't See The Signs" in early 2001 which entered the UK singles chart at number 23 in May 2001.
He would like to do more remixing in the future and says PJ Harvey is an artist who he would like to remix for.

Grant listed his top 10 albums on Amazon.co.uk as follows:

Not a Grant fact, but Feeder were mentioned in the Mark B and Blade song "Sealed With A Diss":
"What about the ninety-six tracks I did before that
Supported Feeder on tour and you think that I changed my format
I refuse to be your doormat, to be stepped on, to be left back!"
